An aspiring manager must be willing to communicate honestly. The manager is coachable is he/she is open to receiving feedback and assistance including submitting to the truth. An innovative manager should always be open- minded, open to fresh ideas and ways of thinking and ready to assume new approaches. Coaches expect the managers to invest time in self as well as display the desire to do the appointed work. It is very imperative that the managers accept responsibility for their lives and decisions they make.

Subsequently, the tools and techniques are obviously effective only for those who are "coachable." Furthermore, focusing on the vision, goals, strategies, plans and solutions will provide productive results. Coaches assist managers to identify and solve perplexing professional and personal issues. The managers are provided appealing strategies to achieve their goals, move towards them and adjust appropriately along the way. The managers' are motivated to stay focused and most importantly, turn self- doubt into self- confidence. Career coaching is forward- looking and action- oriented.
